Keep the wrist back as your arm approaches the release point.

  • Keep your elbow close to the body, with the inside of your wrist pointing toward the catcher
 
  • Approaching the release point, keep your wrist with  the hand bent back, and pointing away.
  • Make sure you keep your arm close to your body.
  • Getting the drop ball to spin correctly is critical, since the spin dictates when and how the pitch will break.

   

  • Focus on using the wrist and fingers to get up and over the ball.

 

  • Pressure from the index and middle finger on top of the ball.
